SHED OF SAWS
I liked the uniformity of this little saw shed.
I believe it was primarily a saw repair and sharpening shop. Again, wood was the prevalent material for just about everything in Castle Dome City.
CASTLE DOME TAVERN
A town can't be without a "hangout"!
This is a very well appointed tavern.
It would be fun to find a fully operational one like this in a quaint little town.
I'm sure there's one somewhere!

This cabin has all the amenities!
After full-timing in an RV, this would be like the Hilton for Nikko and I! LOL!

Across the road from Castle Dome City is the actual mining district. I didn't spend a lot of time over there --- Nikko was in the RV, barking off and on. As in the "city museum", there were very interesting buildings and artifacts.

However, this is also what unwanted visitors would see!
I hope you enjoyed the tour of Castle Dome City! It's a unique preservation of times gone by. The Armstrongs are to be commended for their attention to detail and dedication to an important time in America's history....the Wild, Wild West's history! If you are ever in this area, this is a great hidden gem!
The next post will be where Nikko and I boondocked for five days....as usual, for FREE! :-)

ReplyDeleteLove ALL these! Living in a log cabin, it sort of seems like "home"! After seeing these pictures, we talked about how people these days have no idea how much work it was just to live every day...hauling water, etc.
